Wendelin Vollman was born October 16, 1933 in Macklin, Saskatchewan where he resided with his parents and sister until 1945. His family later moved to another farm southeast of Provost. They lived there together until 1958 when his parents moved into Provost. On July 11, 1964 he married the love of his life, Marie Grunsky. Wendelin and Marie were married 49 wonderful years and to this marriage they had 4 children and one adopted. He farmed south of Provost until 1991. Being semi retired he continued to help other farmers in the Provost area for many years until moving into town in the summer of 2013.
Wendelin loved life and everything it had to offer. His family, his friends and neighbours were very important to him. He had a huge heart and there was always room for everyone in it. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever anyone needed. He was an avid farmer, self-taught welder, was gifted with exceptional design and mechanical abilities which made him a bit of a jack of all trades. You can see this today in the reflection of his children and grandchildren. He loved his children and family dearly and was always looking forward to spending time with them.
Wendelin also enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and taking his boys hunting. He loved to travel and see the countryside, taking the family on well deserved holiday trips. He enjoyed visiting with neighbours and friends, playing cards, telling jokes, wrestling with his children and really enjoyed horsing around with them in his many friendly, loving ways.
Wendelin passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the age of 80 years.
Wendelin will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, of nearly 50 years, Marie; his children, Julie Vollman, James Vollman (wife Shelly), Rob Vollman (wife Amy), Ryan Vollman (wife Mary-Anne; adopted grandson Christopher Vollman (wife Stacy); grandchildren, Garrett Vollman, Kelsey Knapton (husband Ryan), Zachary Vollman, Kayden Vollman; great-grandchildren, Tristan Vollman, Preston Knapton and Summer Knapton; his sister, Elizabeth Anderson (husband Don); as well as numerous extended family and friends.
