Obituary for Burdette Allan Wayne Dempsey
Burdette Allan Wayne Dempsey was born on November 4th, 1994 at the Red Deer Hospital weighing in at 5lbs 5 oz. He was the first born child to Karl and Marcia. They lived in Consort for the next 12 years, where Burdette attended the Consort School. During this 12 year period Burdette made some amazing friends. He was an avid baseball player and that carries over into his adult life.
When Burdette was four, the love of his life was born. Samantha Rosemary Dempsey was born on January 3, 1998, and would forever be the apple of his eye. When Burdette was 12 and Sammy 8, Karl was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident. This would change their lives forever. They relocated to Provost where the kids attended St. Thomas Aquinas. In high school Burdette played basketball and loved every minute of it. He graduated high school in 2012. That year also changed Burdette's life. His little brother Thomas was born. There was an instant brotherly bond.
After high school Burdette entered the work force working for Pyramid Electrical based out of Provost. He worked there for a year and then moved back to Consort where he started working for the town. He purchased his first home and because he missed his family so much, he asked them to all move in with him. Burdette would then work for J&J Construction with his brother in law and best friend Ty. He then moved to Wainwright to work as a line locator and move in with some friends.
In December 2015, Sammy and Ty delivered a beautiful nephew, Jaxon. Sammy, Ty and their bundle of joy moved to Cadogan.
Shortly after Burdette would follow and begin work for Bazooka Industries. Burdette then enrolled in school and moved to Calgary to live with his cousins Cory and Nicole and their family. Burdette fit in with his Calgary family, gaining a not so little, little brother and three sisters. He attended every one of Liam's football games and quickly stole the heart of Sarah as well as everyone else he met there.
Burdette again missed his family so much that he moved back home to Hughenden to live with his mom, and then eventually moving in with one of his best friends Layne in Cadogan. Burdette had just recently started work for Jay Gramlich Construction in which he found a new passion for carpentry. He was so excited he finally found something he truly enjoyed and a working environment he loved. He was looking forward to his future.
Burdette passed tragically on Friday, July 14th, 2017 at the tender age of 22. He will be remembered for his big heart, warm hugs, infectious laugh and for the undeniable love he had for his family and friends.
Rest Easy Biggy.
