Jacqueline Fay Hovde
Jacqueline “Jackie” was born on January 15, 1932 in Regina, Saskatchewan to her parents Fay and Eileen (nee Gilbank) Bogstie. After her birth they then moved to Turner Valley where two more were born, Duane and Butch. The family spent a few years in Turner Valley and then moved on to Hughenden, Alberta. It was in Hughenden that Jackie met the love of her life, Stanley Hovde. They were married on August 31, 1949 and were married for 50 years until Stan’s passing in 1999.
Stan owned the Ford Dealership in Hughenden and Jackie dedicated herself to becoming a mother. Jacqueline loved children and always said she wanted 12 children. God blessed Jacqueline and Stan and 12 children were born.
Jacqueline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She was a teacher, master chef, master baker, gardener, seamstress, quilter and potterer. She was the rock in her family. But most of all Jackie loved her family and welcomes all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eyes lit up every time she saw a new baby. She had the magic touch when it came to babies.
She lived in her home in Hughenden until moving to Points West in Wainwright two years ago. There she made many new friends. She was a breath of fresher air to all of them with her infectious smile and quick wit. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Her memory is cherished by her children, John (Patti), Sandra, Debbie (Les), Cathy, Sharon (Greg), Cindy (Doug), Jeff (Wendy), Dwayne (Ronda), Darrin, Julianne (Stephen), and Billy Jo (Lisa); grandchildren, Lindsay, Jason (Nikki), Angie (Andrew), Christy (Claudio), Craig (Jackie), Trevor, Patricia, Pam (Shawn), Christopher (Catherine), Jennifer (Brett), Julene (Scott), Melissa (Shawn), Brandon, Chelse (Tyler), Chantel (Stefan), Chase, Justin, Carling (Tyler), Lacy, Brendan (Jordana), Lyndon, Clayton, Brooklyn, and London; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kellan, Tenley, Evan, Gabrielle, Janelle, Luca, Antonio, Kaitlyn, Jared, Tyson, Reis, Kennedy, Braedyn, Lance, Kaylea, Stephen, Siobhan, Brynn, Ava, Everly, Brynn, Kai, Kate, Grayson, Piper, Harper, Rumer, Goldie, and Genieve; brother, Duane (Barb) Bogstie; sisters-in-law, Alice Girard and Doreen Bogstie, and good friend Jean Motley, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours.
