Obituary for Edward Bernard Weinkauf

Edward Bernard Weinkauf
Edward Bernard Weinkauf was born on November 8, 1952 in Macklin, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Katherine Weinkauf. He was the tenth child in a family of ten.

Ed grew up and helped on the family farm south of Macklin while attending St. Mary’s School and Macklin School, where he graduated in 1972. After high school, Edward entered the work force and spent many years working with Darrell Klein Floorcovering in Provost, Alberta. He carried his carpentry skills into building pieces of furniture for his family and grandchildren.

Ed enjoyed being active and always had a project on the go. Whether it was recycling bottles, searching out a deal at a garage or auction sale, or simply helping one of the boys with a house project, he would lend a helping hand wherever he could. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, watching hockey, football and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Ed passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2018 at Provost Health Centre.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Sandy; their children, Chris (Darlana) and their children, Preston and Nathan, Clayton (Alicia)and their children, Sierra, Kaylem, Sasha and Keaton, Kyle (Amanda) and their children, Paige and Evan; mother in law, Helen Algner; sister, Margaret (Wilfred) Fleck; brothers, Alex (Hilaria) Weinkauf and Frank (Marie) Weinkauf; sisters in law, Vera Gartner, Darlene Weinkauf and Valerie Weinkauf; brothers in law, Doug Algner, Terry Algner and Kevin (Shirley) Algner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Katherine Weinkauf; sisters, Marie (Joe) Stang and Julia (Jack) Stang; brothers, Joseph, John, Peter and Otto; father-in-law, Ralph Algner; brothers-in-law, Rick Algner and Glen Algner; nephew, Elmer Stang; nieces, Corinna Weinkauf and Janet Koenig; and great niece, Kristin Brown.

Ed will always be remembered for his love of his family, his sense of humour and an appreciation for finding a good deal.
