Harding Lakevold was born in Provost, Alberta on July 27, 1921 and was the second oldest of four boys. He was schooled at Skyline and was a resident of the Provost area for 58 years. He farmed his grandfather’s homestead 3 miles south of town until 1979 when he retired to Osoyoos, BC after losing three fingers in a grain auger. His final years were lived in Kelowna, BC in a retirement complex that accommodated both him and his wife of 66 years, Lillian.
Harding passed away on April 25, 2018 after complications from hip surgery three weeks earlier. He was looking forward to meeting his Maker and reuniting with lost loved ones, especially his beloved son, Keith.
Harding leaves behind his wife Lillian (nee Holman); and will be lovingly remembered by his children Sharon (Bob), Tim (Monika) and Tracy (Len); grandchildren Tiphanie, Matthew and Liam; great-grandchildren, Shaye and Ari; sister-in-law Antoinette Holman; brother-in-law Vic Holman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harding was predeceased by his son Keith, parents Oscar and Mabel, brothers Osborne (Clara), Luther (Gene), Milton (Grace) and brothers- and sisters-in-law Michael (Annie), Mary (Ludwig) Lutter, Herman, August, Joe (Anne), John (Rose), Katie (Alex) McLean, Otto, Beatrice (Luther) Hoberg, Pauline (Arnold) Kaufman, Bob, and Ferd (Shirley).
