I’ve known my cousin Dennis, who was three years older than me, since we were young children. I’ve always admired him and, over my life, have learned a lot from him. When we were young, visiting his family on the farm every summer was something I always looked forward to. He was my best man at my wedding.
Throughout his life, Dennis followed his family’s tradition of being kind and hospitable and of making every guest feel welcome and valued.
Dennis could effectively argue with anyone about a point on which they differed, respectfully and without rancour. He was smart, modern-thinking, industrious, and honourable in his dealings with pother people.
Dennis’ passing will leave a significant empty space in my life, and in many other people’s as well.
My heartfelt condolences to his wife, Marti, and his children, Sandy and Craig. May you find some comfort at this time from the high regard in which your husband and father was held by his many friends.
Thank you for your lifelong friendship and guidance, Cousin.
