We will miss you Joan. You have been like an older and wiser sister to me. I marvelled at your ability to play the piano by ear and play in a band at a young age. You were brave to leave your childhood home to venture to Edmonton to study nursing where you graduated with honours and were chosen class valedictorian. You looked regal in your white uniform, cap and navy cloak.
You cared for your patients with compassion and grace and braved winters to care for patients in their homes.
You married your sweetheart and fellow musician and raised two fine sons who have inherited your musical abilities.
You have touched my life by your example. May you Rest In Peace.
