Ida louise Prediger

Ida Louise Prediger was born on November 5, 1949 in Macklin, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of Albert and Marie Schedlosky.

Ida married Gordon on November 23, 1973 and had two children: Elizabeth and Gordon Jr.

Ida enjoyed her time at the ranch.  She loved being outdoors.  When she wasn’t cooking or baking, she kept a garden and a flowerbed.  We always had potatoes stored in the root cellar during the winter, and we would have bags of frozen vegetables in the freezers.  In the fall, she would make dill pickles and bread and butter pickles.  She would buy cases of peaches and pears for canning, and cases of plums to make homemade jam.  She made sure there was always food on the table.

Ida had a love for animals, especially cats, dogs and cattle that we had. Spring was her favorite season. During calving season she would be out with cows, talking to them and watching their calves run and play.  We would also go looking for crocuses in the pasture and pussy willows along the road by our driveway where there would always be moisture.  She would come home with handfuls of crocuses and pussy willow branches and put them in water.

In the early hours of April 2, 2026, God decided to take Ida home at the age of 76 years.

She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Gordon; and daughter, Elizabeth; close friend, Annette Cales; her brother, Clifford (Deb) Schedlosky and family; sister, Sharon Hayes and family; and her youngest sister, Melissa Schedlosky and family.

Ida was predeceased by her parents, Albert (Margaret) Schedlosky; Marie (Clayton) Schedlosky; sister, Adrienne Schedlosky; and son, Gordon jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ida on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Provost, Alberta, with Father Avinash Francis officiating. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather in St. Mary’s Church Hall for fellowship and refreshments. A private family interment will take place at North Cadogan Cemetery.
