Obituary of Teresa Donalda Gregory
Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Teresa Gregory, 91, died in Provost Health Care Centre on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Baptized Donalda Teresa McRae, she was born on June 13, 1933. Teresa was the sixth of seven children born to Mullen and Emma McRae, who farmed near Rivière Qui Barre, Alberta.
Teresa and her late husband, F.B. Gregory, were well-known community builders in the Provost area. Trained as a registered nurse at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Teresa provided nursing care for Gregory’s Ambulance Service. That service closed in 1975 when the provincial government began to provide regional emergency care. In the 1970s, Teresa put on her nurse’s uniform and cap to visit seniors in their homes. Her work was part of an effort to show the Government of Alberta that homecare could be delivered in rural areas.
Teresa’s passing has left her family very sad. They are also filled with abundant gratitude for her long life, well-lived.
Teresa leaves to mourn five children, Randy (Carol), Dale (Annette), Gail, Joy (Gary) and Kari; 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren; Lyndsay (Klaas) and children Ruby and Josephine; Randi Lynn (Dylan, RIP) and children Jack, Henry, and Kate; Nathan (Becky) and children William and Evelyn; Nicole (Wes) and children Kennedy, Carter, Mason, and Colson; Travis (Nicole) and children Asher, Tenley, Kayne, Brooklynn, Gauge, and Violet; Mitchell (Shar) and children Brecken, Brielle, McKinnley and Kaleb; Mark (Jenna); Michelle (Brandon) and children Avery and Sam; Erin (Billy) and daughter Isla; Joshua (Zarina); Christianne (David); Alexandria (Tyler); Maggie (James); Terese (Justin); Perri; Quinn; and Tate.
She is also survived by three sisters-in-law on the McRae side, Agnes, Margaret, and Carol; her brother-in-law Alvin Gregory, and her sister-in-law, Carol Fossen. In early January, Teresa mourned the loss of another sister-in-law, Darlene Manning. Teresa’s family believes that this loss broke our mother’s heart.
On the McRae side, Teresa was pre-deceased by her parents, Mullen and Emma McRae, her sister Anita, her brothers Dan, Clarence, Sandy, Martin, and John, her brother-in-law Emile Comeau, and her sisters-in-law Margaret and Carol. On the Gregory side, she was pre-deceased by her in-laws Fred and Laura Gregory, sisters-in-law Gladys Paulgaard-Rehman, Eva Sedgwick, Darlene Manning, and Velma Gregory, her brothers-in-law Gordon Paulgaard, Joe Rehman, Al Sedgwick, Frank Manning, and James Fossen.
