Joan Ellenor Ferrier was born on November 30, 1945 in Provost, Alberta to Ron and Elsie Giggs.

With her family by her side, Joan peacefully passed away on March 18, 2025 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 79 years.

She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Calvin; children, Laurie (Doug) Anderson of Rocky Mountain House, Tim Ferrier of Saskatoon; grandchildren, Megan Morin, Kyle Maciejowski, Whitney (Tyler) Robinson-Ferrier, Sheena Ferrier; great grandchildren, Kenna Morin, Jackson Robinson-Ferrier; sister, Barbara Flinn; sister-in-law, Bev Giggs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Ron and Elsie Giggs; brother, Grant Giggs; brother-in-law, Way Flinn; granddaughter, Zabrina Ferrier.

Joan will fondly be remembered for her deep faith, her compassion toward others, and her positive outlook on life. She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed travelling, learning new things and planning new adventures. Her yard, gardens and orchards were her paradise. She knew every flower and every bird, and enjoyed the beauty of nature in all seasons.

A funeral for Joan will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Provost United Church with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating. A Private Family Interment to follow at the Provost Cemetery.
