Pierre Ernest Côté was born to Philomene (Ouellet) and Camille Côté on February 9. 1937 at the farm near Chauvin, Alberta.

Pierre, also known as “Pete” or “Grandpa Pete”, passed away on June 4, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospital at the age of 88 years.

Pete will be lovingly remembered by his step-sons; Bob† (Frances Montpetit) Gabrielson and their family, Bryce (Sydney), Cody, Alyssa (Marc) Dacquay and their children, Calvin, Maverick and Sarah; Rod (Carol) Gabrielson and their family, Chantel (Brett) Hughes and their two children, Peyton and Thomas; and Chad; Ray†, Gary (Ellie) Gabrielson and their family, Letasha (Tracey) Reid and their two children, Ronan and Maverick; Stephanie (Brendan) Schlossberger and Ryan; brother, Clement (Marlene), brother, Joseph Robert (Sherry); sister in-law, Christa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many neighbours and friends.

Pete was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; step-sons, Ray and Bob; brothers, Alfred, Charles and George; Sister in-law, Marjorie and Francis Cote; brother in-law, Ray Gabrielson; and Ruth’s first husband, Vernon.

A Graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chauvin Cemetery, Chauvin, Alberta.
