Obituary of Adam Louis Prost

Please share a memory of Adam to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Adam Louis Prost was born on April 8, 1984, in Hardisty, Alberta, to Timothy and Shirley Prost. Raised in a loving family, he was a devoted son, adoring husband to Michelle, and a caring father to Bentley and Callie. Michelle, Bentley and Callie were Adam’s world and his children were loved beyond measure.  Adam maintained strong bonds with his siblings, Laura and David, along with their families. His playful nature and sincere interest in the lives of his loved ones fostered deep connections that will be cherished forever.

From a young age, Adam was full of energy, spending his childhood riding dirt bikes, building tree forts, playing baseball, and snaring gophers with the skill of a seasoned outdoorsman. His love for the thrill of speed and competition stayed with him throughout his life, shaping the determined and hardworking man he became.

Adam graduated from Hughenden High School in 2002 before moving to Edmonton to pursue his education in the  Autobody Repair program at NAIT where he graduated in April 2004.After working a bit as an autobody technician, he decided that he would follow his dad’s footsteps and enter the oil and gas industry.  Adam went to Fairview where he completed his 4th Class Power Engineering and he operated for a few different oil and gas companies before returning home and getting a position at Gibson Energy in 2012.

On December 31, 2011, Adam married Michelle Wood, and together they built a beautiful family. In 2014, he fulfilled a dream by constructing their home on the farm—a testament to his skill, perseverance, and devotion to providing for his loved ones. He was a devoted father to his two children, who were the center of his world. Whether it was enjoying annual family vacations, teaching them to ride bikes, cheering them on at their activities, or simply spending time with them in the home he built, Adam’s love and guidance were unwavering.

Adam never missed a chance to show up for his family, especially during the holidays. He helped carry on traditions, made the kids laugh with his antics, and added his own warmth and laughter to every gathering.  Adam will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for the outdoors, and his deep devotion to his family. His laughter, his stories, and his adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Adam’s legacy of love, resilience, and joy will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Adam.
