Obituary of Graham Hal Hager

Graham Hal Hager was born on December 12, 1959, to parents, Frank and Madge Hager. Graham didn’t think much of school and left as soon as he could to pursue his passion of farming. He married the love of his life Susan on January 5, 1979, and raised their three children, Chris, Sandy and Shelby on the family farm.

He loved to farm, fish and hunt. He especially loved to travel and visited many places.  He eagerly embraced the local people and cultures of so many places he visited. In their early 50’s he and Sue became snowbirds and enjoyed their winters at their place in Palm Springs. Most of all he loved he loved spending time with his family.

On June 20, 2025, Graham passed away at the Provost Health Centre surrounded by his loved ones.

Graham is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Chris, Sandy (Soohyun) and Shelby (Jordan); grandchildren, Dallyn, Jackson, Cash, Colt and Crew; mother-in-law, Alaline Schmidt; as well as numerous beloved family members and friends.

Graham was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Madge; his brothers, Brian and Dale and his father-in-law, Jim Degenstein.

In lieu of flowers, Graham’s family would appreciate donations in his honor be made to the Provost Minor Hockey Association, as he spent many cherished winter days watching his grandchildren play and referee through this organization.

Funeral service for Graham will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Provost Recreation & Cultural Centre in Provost, Alberta.
