Obituary of Joan Anne Fraser

Joan Anne Fraser was born in Provost on June 28, 1934, to Elmer and Molly Austin. She was the second youngest of 5 children, Dick, Betty, Daphne and Don.
Joan attended grades 1-9 at Sulphur Springs and high school at Provost Public.
She married Roy Fraser on November 7, 1952, and to this union were born Marilyn, Dave, Don, Warren and Ken.
Joan was very involved in the community she was a member of the Kinettes and had a variety of roles in the Provost United Church. She took an avid interest in farm life, gardening, raising chickens, quilting, and followed whatever activities her kids and grandkids were involved in. She was well known for her baking, especially her famous biscuits. Her family was very important to her; she always said that was all she needed.
Joan moved to Hillcrest Lodge in 2019. Following a series of health issues, she moved to Provost Long Term Care in 2022 where she remained until her passing on August 13, 2025 at the age of 91 years.
Joan leaves to mourn her children, Marilyn (†Chuck); their family, Cori (Cam) and their daughters, Audrey and Sophia; Mark (Dana) and their children, Kayden and Kiara; daughter-in-law, Anne (†Dave) their family, Cole (Shana) and their children, Kadin, Carson and Halie; Lance (Krista) and their children, Chet, Kitt, Brin and Cort; Blair (Amanda); son, Don (Marlene) and their family, Brenden, Lauryn, Morgan and Brooklynn; son, Ken (Danita) and their family, Jordan (Kelsey) and their son, Kessler; Travis; Kayla (Devon) and their sons, Kasen and Brooks. She is also survived by her brother, Don and brother-in-law, Leo as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her infant son, Warren; husband, Roy; son, Dave and son-in-law, Chuck.
A funeral for Joan will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Provost United Church with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating.
