Obituary of George Peter Graf

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Peter George Graf, known as George, was born on May 21, 1932 to Peter and Mary (Rolheiser) Graf at Macklin, Saskatchewan.

In November of 1964 he married Hilda Steinhubel, and together they built their life on the Graf family farm. George enjoyed farm life and accepted the good years as well as the bad. He was a deeply faithful man and trusted in God that things would work out according to His plan. Music and community were close to his heart.  When he wasn’t working the land, George enjoyed playing saxophone in the Country Cousins Band with his Rolheiser relatives. After retiring from farming, he worked with his cousin Alex at Rolheiser Electric. Eventually, he moved to the Villa Marie, where staff could count on him to lend a hand. He had a strong voice and a firm handshake. We will always remember his friendliness and his sense of humour.

George passed away on August 23, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Health Center, at the age of 93.

George leaves to mourn his sisters, Angela Sieben and Dorothy Schulmeister; his brother, Gerald; his sisters-in-law, Tillie Graf and Elsie Steinhubel; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda; his sisters, Annie (Steve Behm), Katie (Phil Rau), Rosemarie (Phil Ackerman), Helen (Joe Bosch), Ida (Frank Falk), Pauline (Tony Stang), Elizabeth (John Reschny) and Ursula (Matt Fischer); his brother, Joe; and in-laws, Joe Sieben, John Schulmeister, Karen Graf, Mary (Leo Bast), Rose (Emil Miko) and Ambrose Steinhubel; along with many other relatives.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s Health Center for the excellent care George received over the past few years.
