Obituary of Everett James Briley

Ev was born on March 13, 1955 in Macklin, Saskatchewan. He was the youngest of four children of Jack and Minnie Briley. Ev attended school in Unity, Saskatchewan and met the love of his life, Linda, in Grade 9.

They married on May 22, 1976, shortly after high school. After living for a year in Calgary, Alberta they returned to the Briley family farm to build their life and raise a family together, first in Evesham, and then in Macklin from 1993 onward.

Ev had a long career as school bus driver for Macklin School and farming with his brother, Harold. He also worked for the Town of Macklin after selling the farm. He loved spending time with family and his friends at the coffee shop in Evesham and traveling. He will be dearly missed.

Ev will be forever remembered by his children, Tyler (Amy), Leslie (John), and Jason; grandchildren, Rose, Jacob and Nate; and sibling, Kaye; and numerous other friends and family.

Ev was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Minnie; siblings, Harold and Peggy; daughter, Krista; and beloved wife, Linda.

A Graveside service to celebrate Everett’s life will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prairie View Cemetery at Evesham, Saskatchewan, with Pastor Lois Greenlay Burwash officiating. Fellowship and refreshments to follow at the Evesham Rec. Centre.
