Obituary of Robert W. Paulgaard

Robert "Bob" Paulgaard was born on November 2, 1954, to Oscar and Marlene Paulgaard. Growing up on the family farm northwest of Bodo, Bob developed a strong work ethic, and he loved living at the farm. He found peace and quiet there and it was his all-time favorite meeting place for gathering of friends and family!  He attended school in Bodo and later transferred to Provost Public School, where he played basketball, made lifelong friends, and developed a passion for fast cars.

In 1987, Bob married Penny and became a stepfather to James, Joanna, and Margaret. Bob and Penny shared a son, Oscar. Bob's children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Elizabeth and Jordan (Joanna’s children) Payton, Bradie, Frankie, Elenor, Georgia, and a brand-new grandson, Robert, named after his grandpa. Bob was known for his extensive car collection, particularly his love of Fords. He enjoyed traveling the world, reading good books, and making friends wherever he went. His kind heart, generosity, and infectious smile touched the lives of everyone he met.

Bob passed away on October 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his children, Oscar (Jessica), James, Joanna (Cole), and Margaret (Andrew); his siblings, Terilyn and Jeff (Val); and his grandchildren.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lutheran Church in Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating. Interment to follow at the Our Saviour’s Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be held following the interment at the Paulgaard Auto Collection.
