I was so blessed to have known Kristy for nearly my entire life. We grew up together from childhood through the teenage years and all the way into adulthood. How rare is a friendship like that? I especially will always treasure our teenage and college years. Our little group of friends were so tight-knit and we made the best memories together; from driving around at all hours blasting our music, the shopping trips, hanging out at friends’ houses and so many memories in-between. We truly had the best time together. It was easy to be friends with Kristy. She always put others before herself and did her best to make sure everyone felt beautiful by offering to do their makeup or nails on a whim. We all have at least one picture of Kristy doing our makeup. She loved to surprise her friends with a thoughtful gift “just because” or share a “yummy” recipe she knew we would love too. Her love language was acts of service for others. My favourite memory over the last few years was when she would randomly send me picture of us in our younger days because she came across it and it reminded her of me. Living right next door to your best friend through high school was another highlight, and after we both finished college we ended up driving the exact same car- a smokey grey Mazda 3.
I will always think of Kristy on a sunny day and whenever I see sparkles reflecting in the sunshine. Both represent who she was as a person. She brought so much warmth and a sparkle with her wherever she went. Her kindness and love for all were unmatched.
Kristy, what I wouldn’t give for just one more phone call, one more visit, one more hug, one more minute with you. I am forever grateful for your life-long friendship and for all of the memories we made together. I love you dearly, Kristy and I pray that you rest peacefully. I know you will be watching over us. You will never be forgotten.
All my love,
Jaimie
