Obituary of Terrance Henry Elder
Please share a memory of Terrance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Terry Elder.
Terry was born on March 24, 1978 in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. He was the oldest of four children. Terry attended Wilkie school and in high school, he started his passion with the fire department and remained apart of the Fire Department for 31 years.
Terry was a proud and caring member of the Macklin community. Known for his genuine kindness, sense of humour, and readiness to lend a helping hand, he touched the lives of many. His passion for service shone brightest through his role as a dedicated member of the Macklin Fire Department, where he served with courage, heart, and pride.
Outside of the fire hall, Terry’s greatest joy was his family. On his days off, he devoted his time to Josie, Aiden, and Cameron, and often gathered with his extended family, and his best friends where his easy going nature and big heart brought everyone together. Family and friends meant everything to him, and he made sure the people he loved always knew how important they were.
On September 24, 2016, he met his loving wife, Josie Bayliss through friends. These two love birds loved eachother unconditionally and got married on August 11, 2018. Together they had two wonderful children, Aiden and Cameron.
Terry will be deeply missed and remembered by his loving wife, Josie and their children, Aiden and Cameron; parents, Jeanne and Hank Elder; siblings, Ryan, Sherri (Chris Ritchie) and their son, Nathan; Shawn (Ashley) and their children, Ryker, Cooper, and Alora; father in law, Don Bayliss; and brothers and sisters in law, August, Memarie, Dana, Ray and Jeremy.
He will also be remembered fondly by his extended family; best friends, Dale and Serena Rach and their children, Scott, Dillon, and Brady and families; Derek and Stephanie Frocklage and their children, Everleigh, Levi and Brantley; and the many people whose lives were brighter because of his kindness and laughter.
Terry was predeceased by an infant sister, Jamie and grandparents, Frank and Barb Elder and Cletus and Agnes Kappel.
Terry’s legacy of love, dedication, and service to others will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held for Terry on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Macklin Lakeview Cemetery with Father Santhosh officiating.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Macklin Credit Union Legacy Centre in Macklin, Saskatchewan.
All are welcome to attend. In true Terry fashion, he would want all to dress comfortable in casual clothes.
