Donald “Jim” Cromarty
Born November 15, 1932 – Died December 9, 2025
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we share the passing of Donald “Jim” Cromarty on December 9, 2025. Jim was a man known for his quiet strength, genuine kindness, and the steady, thoughtful way he moved through the world. Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and the sincerity he brought to every conversation.
Throughout his long life, Jim found joy in simple moments. Everyday routines, meaningful work, and the traditions that grounded him. He approached life with patience, gratitude, and an appreciation for the little things that often go unnoticed. His presence brought calm and comfort wherever he went, and his absence will be deeply felt.
As we honor his life, we also hold onto the many memories and moments of connection that remain. They stand as a lasting reminder of a life lived with dignity, purpose, and quiet grace.
He is survived by his wife, Loraine; his son, Gary (Candice) and children, Emma, Wacey, Tamika, Kaden, and Kiahna; daughters, Sandra (Mike) Downey and Janet Bonde; nephews, Gordon (Pam) Paynter and Rob Paynter. As well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his granddaughter, Anika; parents, Walter and Florence; brother, Bert; sister, Donna (Bill) Paynter; all his coffee buddies.
A funeral service for Jim will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lutheran Church in Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating.
For those unable to attend, Jim's service will be livestreamed and accessible through the GFH website at the time of the service.
