Obituary of Nellie Ann Angeltvedt
Please share a memory of Nellie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nellie Ann Angeltvedt was born on October 8, 1953 to Ben and Nellie Groves. Ann was the youngest to brother, Robbie Groves.
Ann grew up in a combined Family House with her Uncle and his daughter. The ranch was southeast of Edgerton, this is where she felt truly at home.
Ann and brother Robbie would board in Edgerton during the winter for school, later the grader would come to the Ranch for a school bus.
She regularly rode her horse to town with her brother when possible for school or other activities. She was very proud of the way her dad pushed her to ride bareback before riding with a saddle. Ann rode Gymkhana whenever she could enter, her annual event at Edgerton Sports Days was a proud accomplishment.
Ann met Ron during a Gymkhana and later married in 1973. In 1976, their family grew with the arrival of daughter, Tracy; their family stayed this way for 10 years before returning home to Edgerton to try their hand at ranching. Shortly after, they were excited to welcome the arrival of son, Cole. They stayed for another 5 years before making the move back to Provost.
In 1999, the family grew again with the addition of son in law, Dan and shortly after came 4 grandchildren, Charlie-Ann, Jude, Danielle and Matthew. In 2014, the family grew once again with the addition of daughter in law, Katelyn and with that union, came granddaughter, Lindy.
In 2011, Ann beat CMML Leukemia with a bone marrow transplant. In 2016, Ann had cancer again, this time she beat breast cancer. Mid 2024, she was diagnosed once again, but with lung cancer. Ann is one of the toughest ladies we know, even with these diagnosis’ she would just deal with it and tell how it is at the end of the day.
Ann passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025 at the age of 72 years.
Ann will be forever missed and loved by her family; daughter, Tracy (Dan) and their children, Charlie-Ann, Jude, Danielle and Matthew; son, Cole (Katelyn) and their daughter, Lindy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ron; brother, Robbie; parents, Ben and Nellie; and great grandson, Beau.
A funeral service will be held for Ann on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lutheran Church in Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating. A private family interment will follow at the Provost Cemetery.
