Obituary of Jeffery Dean Donald Currie
Please share a memory of Jeffery to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeffery Dean Donald Currie was born January 19, 1978 in Red Deer, Alberta. After moving around for several years, his family settled in Provost in the summer of 1988. Before school even began that year, Jeff had already made friends with his entire class—a testament to the warmth and kindness that defined him throughout his life.
Jeff valued his friendships above all else. He had a lifelong passion for hockey, playing from novice to midget in Provost, and proudly earning the MVP award for the 1995–1996 season.
A natural storyteller, Jeff captivated friends and family alike with his endless stories, quick wit, and infectious smile. Jeff was a trucker through and through; behind the wheel, he saw Canada from coast to coast, from the ice roads of the north to as far south as Texas. His travels only added to the stories he loved to share.
On June 24, 2006, Jeff married his wife Sherry and welcomed her three daughters into his heart and family.
Jeff had a deep love for hunting and fishing and treasured both summer and winter days spent at the cabin at Capt Ayre Lake—hunting and fishing by day, and spending evenings around the fire with friends and family.
Jeffery loved with his whole heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jeff passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2025 at the age of 47 years.
Jeffery is survived by his parents, Darlene and George Currie; his brother, Ryan (Connie); nieces, Deistany and Isabella; his wife, Sherry; stepdaughters, Kristan (Paul), Carla (Josh), and Jessica; and step-grandchildren, Scotty, Jayden, Tori, Emmett, and Thomas; along with countless friends and extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cadogan Ag. Society Hall.
