Obituary of Dale Louis Martin

Please share a memory of Dale to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dale Louis Martin was born on May 27, 1954, in Camrose, Alberta, the firstborn child of James and Marjorie Martin.

He attended elementary school in Czar and completed high school in Hughenden. In his early years, Dale held a variety of jobs before moving to Edmonton, where he worked as a city bus driver. During his 17 years in the city, he formed many lifelong friendships. However, the pull of country life never left him, and he eventually returned to his roots, spending the rest of his years in and around Czar.

Dale had a deep love for his nieces and nephews and was a constant presence in their lives. He spent countless hours in hockey arenas and ball diamonds, and could often be found attending dance recitals, always there to cheer them on. Known for his warm smile and easygoing nature, Dale always had time for a visit and made those around him feel welcome.

Surrounded by the love of his family, Dale passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton at the age of 71. Though his passing leaves a deep void, his family finds comfort in the compassion and care he received in his final days.

Dale will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his siblings: Vicky (Dale) Downing, Lee (Brenda) Martin, Lori Morrison, and Glenn (Loralie) Martin. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Rhdonda (Wayne), Cori (Blair), Jill (AJ), Clay, Dayle, Dylan, Travis (Stacy), Riley (Jessie), Logan (Camillia), James, Calvin, and Stefanie; as well as great-nieces and nephews Clark, Ella, Charlie, Hanley, Andries, Alex, Miller, Tristen, Wyatt, Abigail, Casey, Max, Benjamin, Sofia, and Carla. Dale will also be fondly remembered by numerous extended family members and many, many friends whose lives he touched.

He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Jim and Marj Martin, and his brother-in-law, Darren Morrison.

Dale will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and the memories he created will be cherished by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Dale’s life on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Czar Cultural & Recreation Centre in Czar, Alberta. Private family interment will follow at the Czar Cemetery.
