Obituary of Chester Robert Spornitz
Please share a memory of Chester to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Chester Robert Spornitz was born on March 27, 1938, in Edgerton, Alberta to Ernest “Boob” and Jenny Spornitz. Raised on the family farm, Ches developed a lifelong love of horses, along with a deep appreciation for music and sports, all passions rooted in his family life from an early age. During his first teaching assignment at Albert School north of Irma, he met the love of his life Joan Fleming. They were married on August 8, 1958, beginning a devoted partnership that would span decades. In 1959, Ches and Joan moved to Czar where they raised five children, Bob, Wendy, Myrna, Corinne, and Dean.
Family was always at the heart of Ches’s life. He traveled far and wide to spend time with those he loved, creating lasting memories along the way. A steady and generous presence, Ches was not only a cornerstone of his family but also a pillar of his community, contributing his time and energy to countless events and organizations over the years.
