Obituary of Clarence George Stang

Clarence was born on February 9, 1942. He was the youngest son of Jacob and Mary Stang.

He farmed for almost 20 years. Farming with his brothers then branching out on his own. In the later years, he purchased the liquor and jewelry store in Macklin which became Stang’s Jewelry.

Throughout his life, he was very involved with the community. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Macklin Mohawks, Wildlife Federation, Gun Club, Macklin Fire Department and Curling Club. As time passed, Clarence could be found enjoying his time playing golf, fishing, and spending many hours woodworking.

Clarence passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, at the Provost Health Centre – Long Term Care at the age of 81 years.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Clarence will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 59 years, Armella; three children, daughter, Lori (Sonny) and her children, Brittney (Cole), Gavin (Elicia) and Michelle (Kyle); son, Shawn (Candy) and his children, Mitchell (Shannon), Deacon and Ty;  daughter, Myrna (Warren) and her children, Allysa (James) and their children, Gracie, Zack, Brix, and Jet; Auston (Kirsten) and their children, Alexa and Elijah; sister in laws, Theresa Stang and Yvonne Stang; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Clarence was predeceased by his son, Shawn; brothers, Ted, Victor, Roman and Edwin; sisters, Freida, Loretta, Hilda, and Marcella.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Macklin, Saskatchewan with Father Santhosh Thekkekulam and Father Christopher Selavaraj Rayappan officiating. Private Family Graveside will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery.
