Carl Norman Aasen was born on March 8, 1945 in Provost, Alberta. He was the third oldest son of Gladys and Svein Aasen.
He attended Provost Public School and continued his education at the Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute in Camrose, the Camrose Lutheran College and the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where he graduated with a degree in agriculture, majoring in range management. He worked for Alberta Agriculture in Wainwright, Alberta Lands Branch in St. Paul and Edmonton, B.C Forestry - Range Management Division at Williams Lake and Alberta Forestry - Range Division in Kananaskis Park.
Carl married Maureen Bishop in 1975 and had a son, Brent. Carl enjoyed the outdoors, camping, photography and listening to Willie Nelson.
Carl passed away on October 7, 2023 at the Sherwood Care facility in Sherwood Park, Alberta at the age of 78 years.
Carl is survived by his son, Brent; siblings, Arne and family; Karen (Dennis) and family; Arvid (Irene) and family and Signe (David) and family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Svein; brother, Ove; two sisters-in-law, Opal (Arne) and Irene (ⴕOve)
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Skyline Cemetery, near Provost, Alberta with Pastor Paul McCormick officiating.
