Obituary of Kim Larson
Please share a memory of Kim to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kimberly “Kim” Myles Larson, beloved husband, father, and papa passed away on June 27, 2024 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 65 years. Kim was born on May 27, 1959 to Lewis and Betty Larson. He grew up on the family farm near Bodo, AB. In 1978, Kim and his wife Deborah were married and began their family, welcoming children Courtney, Janine, Jordan and Callie.
Dad loved Provost and was a dedicated member of the community. He served on the town council, volunteered on the fire department, was a member of the Provost Kinsmen, was involved with economic development, served on church council, sat on the Bodo Archeological Society board, played a main role in bringing in the A&W and Canalta Hotel, implemented the towns recycling programs, obtained his fireworks licence to assist in providing top tier firework shows, provided sponsorships to various community teams and events, and helped facilitate the filming and production of Beyond the Heavens with Corbin Bernsen.
Dad’s life’s work was reflected in Kim Larson Financial, a business he spent 32 years building. He took such pride in being able to help clients in their biggest time of need. He was always first in line to lend a hand when someone in the community needed it and he stopped at nothing to ensure that his family was taken care of.
Dad truly believed that life was worth living. He enjoyed several activities such as drag racing, snowmobiling, camping, boating and fishing, but nothing made him happier than when his whole family was able to be together. He had an unwavering passion for many things in life, but the one thing that reigned supreme was the Ford Motor Company.
Kim will be always loved, forever missed and never forgotten by the love of his life, Deborah; children, Courtney (Jay), Janine (Tim), Jordan, Callie (Cole); grandchildren, Tristan (Daelyn), Lily, Jackson and Hailyn; siblings, Beverly (John), Wayne, Janice (Len ♰), Bonnie (Elmer), Tammy (Rod), Heidi (Pius); father in law, Bill Degenstien; brothers and sisters in law, Tim (Germaine), Theresa (Gerry), Colleen (Aaron), Jackie, Renee (Randy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and colleagues.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lewis & Betty; his mother-in-law, Marie; niece, Robyn; and brother-in-law, Len.
The Larson family would like to send a sincere note of thanks to Dr. Griesel, the nursing staff at the Provost Health Centre and the MediVac Paramedics for their efforts in stabilizing our dad before he arrived in Edmonton.
