Pauline Oborowsky née Fischer

September 30th, 1926 – September 9th, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Pauline Oborowsky on September 9th, 2024, at the age of 97 years.

Pauline was born on September 30th, 1926, and was the seventh oldest of 11 children born to Christian and Amelia Fischer. She met her late husband, Joseph Oborowsky at a dance at the Seifert school and they were married on June 27th, 1950, at St. Peter’s church. Pauline spent many years on the farm raising her family before moving to an acreage by Sandy Ridge then to a condo in Saskatoon. Pauline and Joe moved to Hillcrest Lodge in Provost, AB where she lived for more than 10 years before spending the last four months in long term care at the Provost Health Centre.

Pauline’s kindness, laughter and smile were contagious, and she was proud to leave a family and legacy filled with love and respect. Her life was filled with happiness, hard work and adventure as she raised her family with big-hearted values. Pauline’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends and was always up for enjoying a beer or whisky with visitors. Her passions included crocheting, quilting, playing cards, gardening, going to the casino, playing Bunnock and reading.

Later in life, she enjoyed travelling the world visiting the Dominican Republic, Maui, Jerusalem, Toronto, the Maritimes, Niagara Falls and most recently a cruise to Alaska with her children.

Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her children: Elmer Oborowsky, Dorothy (Hubert) Gartner, Rita (Lyle) Gartner, Marilyn (Randy) Nett, Garry (Delia) Oborowsky, Nora (Blaine) Unger.

Grandchildren: Della (Dino) Pezzante, Cora (Ted) Matsikas, Janessa (Brett) Ferry, Kimberly (Craig) Gibson, Tyler (Mandy) Gartner, Alana (Daniel) Gartner, Linda Gartner, Amanda Gartner, Raelene Gartner, Kyla (Jonah) Janzen, Aaron (Tanya) Gartner, Jordan Unger, Payton Unger, Justin (Kirsten) Nett, Vanessa (Jeff) Burwell, Kirstan (Mark) Diesen, Dallas (Teara) Oborowsky, Cassidy (Jackie) Oborowsky, Tanner (Alexi) Oborowsky, Katelyn Oborowsky, Jesse (Brooklyn) Oborowsky, Madison Oborowsky.

Great Grandchildren: Skye, Rhys, Avianna, Evangelia, Vann, Veda, Elizabeth, Rachael, Parker, Zachary, Curtis, Amy, Karlie, Brittany, Sheldon, Bryce, Izabella, Lucas, Priseis, Georgia, Bo, Journey, Ace, Saidi, Rory, Harper, Mason, Greyson.

Great great grandchild: Paisley.

Pauline also leaves to mourn: her sister Theresa Hauck, sister-in-law Adeline Fischer and daughter-in-law Diane Oborowsky.

Pauline was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, her infant children Mary and Joseph; children, Elsie Gartner and Charles Oborowsky; daughter-in-law, Millie Oborowsky; and grandson in law, Mark Diesen.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the considerate staff at the Hillcrest Lodge and heart felt gratitude to Dr. Wang and staff at the Provost Health Centre for their compassion and kindness.

If you would like to donate in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grosswerder Cemetery.
