Obituary of Alexander George Bosch

Please share a memory of Alexander to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alex was born on July 1, 1927, the fourth youngest child of John and Elizabeth Bosch. He lived on the Bosch homestead near Cosine, Saskatchewan; where he attended Gramlich School. It was there that he began his lifelong career as a farmer. In 1952, Alex met and married his wife of sixty years, Barbara Doetzel and they settled on the Bosch homestead. In 1954, they moved to a farm south west of Hayter, Alberta, with their two daughters Sandra and Marge. It is here where they welcomed their five sons Bob, Doug, Duane, Greg, and Ed. Following this, they moved to another farm south east of Hayter in the winter of 1969. In 1983, Alex and Barb moved to the town of Provost. He continued to be an integral part of the farm's operation tending faithfully to the cattle and fields. He had a knack for fixing and repairing things from zippers to various types of farm machinery. In addition to his passion for farming, Alex was a man of faith, family and friends. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, and active in the church community. He enjoyed watching and playing sports, and never passed up the opportunity for a good game of cards. Fishing, curling, and playing bunnock were also favorite pastimes. He especially looked forward to family events such as weddings and reunions so he could get reacquainted and catch up on things. He also spent a great deal of time visiting with the sick in the local hospitals and nursing homes. At the age of eighty-five, Alex passed away peacefully with family members by his side. Alex will be forever remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Sandra (George), Marge (Jack), (Paulette), Doug (Diane), Duane (Jennel), Greg (Liz), and Ed (Wendy); grandchildren, Terri, Trina (Tommy), Troy (Stacie), Tanya (Levi), Kari (Travis), Kristy (Paul), Craig (Aimee), Denita (Murray), Derek (Melissa), Doug, Danielle, Jen (Clayton), Myles, Terica, Jennessa (Tyler), Alyssa, Ashley, Brody, Summer, Mikayla, Mitchell, and Logan; great-grandchildren, Megan, Kate, Allison, Hayden, Kiera, Chloe, Jordan, Jacob, Joshua, Tyson, Lauren, Landon, Brock, Kamryn, Leah, Chase, Ryley, Nolan, Shaymus, Maddison, Hunter, and Madison; brother, Johnny (Ida); sisters, Tillie (Alex) and Gertie (Joe); and sisters in-law, Katherine, Caroline and Luella; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
