Obituary of Donald Lawrence Maron

Donald “Don” Maron was born at Coronation, Alberta on April 4, 1947, to parents, Leo and Lydia Maron. Their family was complete with children, Ruth, Irene, Laureen, Florence, Richard, Donald, Doris, Elizabeth and Vernon.

Donald attended Brownfield School and worked on the farm with his dad.

In 1971, Don married Linda Crookes at the littlest church at Drumheller, Alberta; and from this union they had three children, Tina, Terry and Tracey.

The couple lived in Drumheller, Rosebud, Edson, Coronation, Veteran, Brownfield and later bought the family farm at Brownfield.

Don worked hard and played hard.  He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.  Don was well travelled and had many adventures.

On January 3, 2025, Don passed away at the Coronation Hospital at the age of 77 years.

Donald is survived by his wife, Linda Maron; children, Tina (Dale) Tuchscherer, Terry (Pauline) Maron and Tracey (Wade) Golby; grandchildren, Justin, Daina, Hope, Isaac, Adison, and Evan; siblings, Irene (Ken) Guy, Laureen Schmidt, Richard Maron (Gloria Konschuh), Vernon Maron (Terry Peterman); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Lydia Maron; father in-law, John Crookes; mother-in-law, Mabel Crookes; sisters, Ruth and Florence; brothers in-law, Cecil Van Hecke, Melvin Schmidt and Leo Crookes; sister in-law, Marjorie Twa and grandchild, Quinten Golby.

The Family would like to thank Coronation Hospital staff for their care and compassion, and the Brownfield, Coronation communities for their support, meals, flowers and the many visits.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Don's life on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brownfield Recreation Centre. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow.
