Obituary of Lyle William Zacharias

Lyle Zacharias was born to John and Doreen (Gledhill) Zacharias on December 3, 1951 in Vanguard, Saskatchewan. He was the second of four children, joining older brother, John before younger sisters, Teresa and Pamela were welcomed to the family.

The Zacharias family moved a number of times over Lyle's childhood, finally settling in Alberta, where Lyle attended school in Bonnyville, Provost and Hughenden. In junior high school, Lyle met Laura Prediger and the two married in January, 1971. Lyle and Laura welcomed their daughter Rhonda in 1971 and son Trent in 1975.

After working for several years at Alberta Sulphate, Lyle and Laura took over the family farm in 1980. This is where Lyle truly found his calling and longed to spend his final days on the farm as he battled illness.

Lyle passed away on January 13, 2025 at the Provost Hospital at the age of 73 years.

Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his son, Trent (Pam); their children, Aiden, Abigail and Madison; brother, John (Gail); sister, Teresa (Darryl); nieces and nephews; and many special friends and close family.

Lyle was predeceased by his wife, Laura; daughter, Rhonda; sister, Pam; parents, John and Doreen; mother in law, Lucille; father in law, Leland and brother in law, Lyle.

Family and friends are invited to join for a funeral for Lyle on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cadogan Hall. A private family interment will take place at the North Cadogan Cemetery.

Following the service, Lyle's Family invites you to join them for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the Cadogan Hall.
