Obituary of Angelina Gette
Please share a memory of Angelina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angelina Gette was born February 18, 1933 in Macklin, Saskatchewan to Joseph and Magdeline Gartner,
Angelina the eldest of twelve children. She spent her early life and teen years on the family farm. It is on the farm where Angelina learned the value of hard work, caring, giving and most of all the importance of family life.
On October 5, 1953 Angelina married Joseph Gette. After their marriage the young couple would start their lives on the Gette farm. Angelina and Joe were blessed with eleven children, three boys and eight girls. The family lived on the farm until 1963, when they would move to Macklin as owner and manager of the Massey Ferguson dealership.
In 1969, with Joe's health starting to fail, the family along with Angelina's siblings rebuilt the Rivera motel. The managing and operations of the rebuilt motel would become their new life for the next seven years. In 1976 they would sell the motel and Angelina would begin working as a caregiver at the Golden Twilight Lodge until her retirement.
On May 10, 2013, with her family by her side, Angelina passed away peacefully at St Joseph's health Center at the age of 80 years.
