Obituary of Victoria Ann Sieben

Please share a memory of Victoria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Victoria Ann Sieben passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the Camrose Hospital on May 27, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born September 7, 1927 and raised at Reward, Saskatchewan. She was one of 8 siblings born to John and Madeline Keller. She met Ben Sieben in the fall of 1944 while he was threshing in the area. Three months later they were wed on December 27, 1944 in St John's Catholic Church north of Reward. Their first home was the old nursing sisters house that was moved from Altario to the homestead. They started with a few cattle, a team of horses, and a handful of chickens and a pig. Their first crop was hailed out 100% and Ben had to go out to work that fall for extra money. Six children were born to Ben and Victoria - Dianne, Wayne, Edwin, Sharon, Marline and Terry. They worked hard farming and raising a family on the farm until 1975 when they built a house in Provost. In the fall of 2003, she sold her house and moved to Hillcrest Lodge where she would call home until her passing. Victoria enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, baking and gardening. She was known for her excellent cabbage rolls which were required for every family gathering. She especially enjoyed playing with her 15 grandchildren and more recently her 24 great grandchildren. Victoria will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her sons, Wayne (Debbie) Sieben, Edwin (Sonia) Sieben and Terry Sieben; daughters, Diane (Ron) Southoff, Sharon (Wayne) Kelts and Marline (James) Howe; fifteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
