Obituary of Calvin Wayne Shaw

Calvin Wayne Shaw was born September 11, 1950 in Ponoka, Alberta to Edward and Elsie Shaw. Cal spent most of his time growing up in Bashaw and Calgary. At the age of sixteen he quit school to go to work with his dad roofing. Later on he was introduced to the oil patch with Nabors Drilling where he met Linda - his love for 32 years. Cal worked for Cargill for nine years but ended up returning to the oil patch and operated power tongs and eventually working for Grenco. Before calling Provost home, Cal spent time living and working in Red Deer, Mannville and Vemilion. After a brief battle with cancer, Cal passed away peacefully on June 4, 2013 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 62 years. Cal will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife and best friend, Linda; sons, Mike (Christie) and Colin; granddaughters, Emily and Samara (Josh); great grandson, Laker; brothers, Meryl (Mary) and Ron (Adeline); sisters, Elsie (Gene) and Irene (Howard); brother in law, Ernie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cal was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Elsie; infant brother, Allen; brother, Cecil (Carol); sister, Ruth; brother in law, Lewis.
