Obituary of John Stanley Schonheiter
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John was born as the 10th of 12 children to John & Magdalina Schonheiter on June 15, 1925 at the homestead near Primate, SK. He passed away quietly at St. Joseph's Health Centre on July 1, 2013 at the age of 88 years.
John was always a mischievous boy, although he always claimed it was his older twin that made him do it. He maintained this mischievous nature for his entire life. He loved to tell all kinds of stories which most of them were very tall! He loved it even more when people believed his stories - he would laugh and laugh about it. John farmed with his brother, Pete, until retirement.
Our lives have been deeply touched by this wonderful man. He loved and laughed with all his heart and loved us all unconditionally.
It took him a long time to find the woman he chose to spend the rest of his life with, Ursula Hagel, and they spent 54 years together. John will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his three daughters, Deborah, Brenda, and Carmelita (Shane); eight grandchildren, Gerald Jr., Sasha-Rene, Jarrett (Raelene), Nicole (Braden), Jessie (Leeroy), Danielle, Josh (Joelle), Jasmine (Ryan); eight great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brandi, Brandon, Brett, Macy-Jade, Shyanne, Haylee, Izabella; brother, Adam Schonheiter; sisters, Annie Rau and Mary Bowes; sister in law, Lena Schonheiter; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
John was predeceased by his son in law, Gerald Leibel; brothers, Alex, Joe and Peter; sisters, Maude (August), Lizzie (Barney), Rosie (Albert), Emily (Mike) and Lena (Ronald); brothers in law, Joe and Dave; sister in law, Elsie.
