Obituary of Joseph George Oborowsky
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph George was born November 19, 1922 in Macklin, Saskatchewan to Phillip and Helen Oborowsky. Joseph was raised on an extremely large and busy farm in the Cactus Lake area, which he eventually took over and farmed until his retirement.
On June 27, 1950 Joseph married Pauline, his sweetheart who became the love of his life. In the early years of marriage they worked hard to create a legacy surrounding family values and dedication to one another. The family eventually grew to include 8 children and spouses, 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Joseph truly lived the values of his faith in his everyday life and instilled these values in each of their children.
Joseph loved to play cards, baseball, bunnock, horseshoes and to go hunting.
Even though Joseph was a hard-working, diligent farmer and community minded, he will be remembered for his pride of his farm, his kindness and the vast love he had for Pauline and his family as they brought him great happiness and pride.
It is with profound sadness that we say good-bye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. On October 8, 2013 Joseph passed away suddenly and peacefully, late in his 90th year.
Joe will be sadly and dearly missed by his devoted and much-beloved wife of 63 years, Pauline; loving children, Elmer (Millie), Dorothy (Hubert), Elsie (Dave), Rita (Lyle), Marilyn (Randy), Garry (Wanida), Nora (Blaine) and Charles (Diane); 24 grandchildren, Della (Dino), Cora (Ted), Janessa (Brett), Kimberly (Craig), Tyler, Alana, Linda, Amanda (Kyle), Raelene (Jarrett), Kyla (Jonah), Aaron, Justin (Rhianna), Vanessa (Jeff), Kirstan, Dallas, Cassidy, Tanner, Jordan, Payton, Katelyn, Jesse, Madison, Chance, Kayla; 12 great-grandchildren, Skye, Vann, Veda, Elizabeth, Rachael, Curtis, Amy, Karlie, Brittany, Sheldon, Bryce and Izabella; as well as many extended family and friends.
Joseph was predeceased by two infant children, Mary Anne and Joseph; parents, Phillip & Helen and all of his siblings.
