Obituary of Hal Owen Reinhart

Please share a memory of Hal to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Surrounded by his family, Hal peacefully passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 82 years. Hal Owen was born on the Reinhart Ranch August 26, 1931 to Frank & Katie Reinhart. He was the 8th born of 11 children. Hal grew up on the Reinhart Ranch and continued to ranch with his brothers for many years. Hal married Donna Ferris on November 22, 1958 and the two of them settled at "the old place" west of Chauvin, where their family grew to include three children. They stayed at "the old place" until the passing of their eldest son, Lin, in 1988. They then moved back to the Reinhart Ranch and lived there until moving to Crestwood in Provost in 2012. Over the years, Hal had a passion for rodeo and more specifically, chuckwagon racing. Has was an active chariot and chuckwagon driver until he suffered a stroke in 1992. Being so passionate about wagon racing but unable to do so himself, Hal began judging and starting the chuckwagon and chariot races, with his son, Brian, and his favorite horse, Red. Hal was a sports fanatic, both as a participant and spectator. He enjoyed hockey, especially watching Lin and Brian play. He also enjoyed fastball and was Dallas' biggest fan as she played. Hal continued this support of sports as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting activities began. Hal was a frequent spectator at the Provost Blades hockey games and even had an "unofficial" season seat in the lobby. Family was a priority to Hal and he always tried to make an impact on his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Hal was a very good farming mentor and passed that knowledge onto anyone who worked with him. Hal's family priorities were passed on to his children and their families. He was a proud man, which got stronger watching his family grow up and accomplish so much. Surrounded by his family, Hal passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Provost Health Centre at 82 years of age. Hal will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, of 55 years, Donna; children, Brian (Donna), Dallas (Bob) Foxwell; daughter in law, Marilyn Reinhart; grandchildren, Jason (Melissa), Jamie (Kenya), Jayna (Dustin), Jennifer (Tyson), Melissa (Trevor), Rayelle (Texas), Curtis (Kia), and Layne; Great-grandchildren, Parker, Daelynn, Carter, Spencer, Morgann, Ryder, Rayne, Hunter, Madisyn, and Charlie; extended family, Shane (Roxy) Reinhart and their sons, Connor and Chance, Dixie (Dave) Getzinger and their family; brothers, Jim and Art (Milly); sister, Isabelle; sisters in law, Marlene, Betty (Tony), Roberta (Rick), and Shirley (Ken); as well as many extended family and neighbors.
