Obituary of Louise Elizabeth Symington

Louise Elizabeth was born on February 23, 1939 to Alovis & Katherine Baier in Consort, Alberta. Louise passed away on December 20, 2011 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 72 years after a 14 year battle with lung cancer. Louise was raised alongside 10 siblings in the Altario area. She attended the Green Glen School until the age of twelve, at which time she attended the Castor Catholic Theresetta, Daughters of Wisdom, Boarding School. Louise became a Registered Nurse through training at the general hospital and served one year in the operating room at Wetaskiwin Hospital before her duties as Public Health Nurse at the clinic in Provost in 1962. Louise married Gail Symington on June 27, 1964 in Hardisty and shortly thereafter began their family, of four children. Louise enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, being a taxi driver and 4H mom and was a devoted wife, mother, and gramma. Louise is survived by her husband of 47 years, Gail; children, Lori, Colin (Gail), Calvin (JoAnn), Mark (Sherri); grandchildren, Dan, Eric, Randy, Colton, Nolan, Sierra, Austin; sisters, Eleanora, Helen, Marianne, Kathleen, Jenny; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Louise was predeceased by her parents, Alovis & Katherine; brothers, George, Edward, Theodore, David, and Albert; parents-in-law, Hugh & Iris Symington.
