I knew Larry when he was about 14 years old. He was living with his dad who was always working and Larry was a typical bored teenager. As a result he was always getting in trouble. One day I went to work only to discouver all the others who lived on my street were not in. When they arrived they asked me didn't my car have a flat tire that morning? No. Well every car on the street had a flat tire, why was mine missed. I had a sneaky suspicion it just might have been Larry up to a trick, you see Larry often used to stop at my place for a breakfast or supper, and I really liked Larry. That morning I realized, Larry liked me to.
I recall another time when Larry found a stray kitten in the garbage foraging for food. He brought the kitten into me and since I didn't have a kitten we decided I should keep him. What should we call him Larry, and we dicided the kitten would be named Trash Cat. I can still hear Larry laugh as he called Trash, Trash.
I am sorry we didn't know Larry as he grew up but it seems he became a fine young man. I hope you find Trash Cat up there. RIP Larry.

To be honest I have so many stories that I don't know which to share, I am so glad that I have had the time to know my father & enjoy his presence, but I'll guess I'll share this one.
Well we were up in camp about an hour from lac lah biche & 2 hours from fort Mac, & I didn't have a class 1 liscence nor did the other guy that was working up there with us, there was originally 4 of us, but the 2 people with their liscences quit, so me & Brody Stone ended up learning to drive truck rather fast. & since there were only me & Brody left I picked up the slack for the last month working 14-18 hours for the last month we were up there. I got back one night after a few late days & still wearing my coveralls I ended up passing out / falling asleep in my dads office / on his bed but when I fell asleep I fell asleep with my legs & arms in the air in an extremely awkward position in dads bed, kinda like someone curled in a ball but facing upwards.
Dad ended up getting tired & instead of waking me up he just laid down beside me & we both slept till morning. In the morning I woke up to my dad cuddling me (or maybe it was me cuddling him) but this was one of them memory's I will never forget. He was so happy & proud of me for doing as much as I could & it was one of the best winters I ever had with him.
He was never afraid to tell anyone how he felt, never judged people by their mistakes, he tried to push & make the best out of every situation I don't have many stories from when I was younger but I am definately happy I had the chance to become his best friend & son in my adult years we missed out on a lot of each other's lives but we more than made up for it.
My father was an amazing man & he touched many many people's lives, I could only dream of being half the man he was.

I will always remember Larry as a get it done type of guy, I had very little chance to know Larry outside of working with him. I could always count on him to get the job done, help the new guy even if he had to drive all night to do it. A very hard working fellow, he kept going when the going was tough. He loved coffee and a quick visit when he sat still long enough to do so. Sweet Rest Larry, I'm sorry you had to go so soon.
