Obituary of Harold S. Read

Harold Spencer Read was born in Provost, Alberta on October 6, 1918 to Mae & Charles. Harold passed away January 4, 2012 at the Provost Health Centre at 93 years of age. As the son of a pioneer Harold enjoyed farming on the original homestead before moving to Provost. Harold enjoyed being a mechanic and was employed as janitor and maintenance man for the M.D. of Provost. Once he retired he enjoyed being the town "handy-man" and kept busy with odd jobs. Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Jo; nephew, Mel (Luanne) Read of Calgary; nieces, Doe Pollen of Winnipeg, Edith (Herb) Krekoski of St. Paul, Linda (John) Broemeling of Provost; 3 great nieces; 4 great nephew; 1 great-great niece; and 7 great-great nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Earl and David; and sister, Pauline.
