Obituary of Arnold Carl Rehman

Arnold Carl Rehman was born February 13, 1927 at Provost, Alberta to Karl and Anna (Raab) Rehman. He was the youngest of 12 siblings. Arnold passed away peacefully at the Provost Long Term Care Facility with his family at his side on December 7, 2014 at the age of 87 years. As a young man, Arnold attended the Western Ridge School but left at a young age to help on the family farm. In 1956 he met Helen Knorr, who was a housekeeper on the farm. They were married on May 1, 1957. Together they lived in Edmonton where Arnold worked for AGT. They had three children, Brian in 1958, Sharon in 1959 and Armella in 1966. In 1968 they moved to Provost and purchased the ElFlora Motel which they owned and operated for 8 years. In 1976 they sold the motel and Arnold went to work for the MD of Provost operating a Grader. Arnold retired at the age of 65. Arnold was very active in his church with the Knights of Columbus and served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, watching hockey, and most of all loved being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It didn't matter which of the grandkids birthday he was celebrating, Arnold always got the biggest piece of cake. Arnold never said much, but when he did it was always good advice or a funny joke. Arnold will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Helen; children, Brian (Joan) Rehman, Sharon (Terry) Heck, and Armella Poole; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristina) Rehman, Kimberly (Devin) Sturwold, Ashley (Geoff) Stobart, Luke (Tanya) Rehman, Kelly (Shawn) Sampson, Krista (Marc) Krobutschek, Jodi (Roger) Collier, Kylie Heck, and Jessica Poole; great-grandchildren, Ella, Brooklyn, Liam, Raef, Alyeah, Lily, Raya, Quinn, Jack, Nate; sister, Kathleen Berger; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Arnold was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Anna; his siblings, Maria (George) Schon, Francis (Elizabeth) Rehman, Infant Joseph Rehman, Leopoldt (Sophie) Rehman, Rudolph (Emma) Rehman, John (Gertrude) Rehman, Jacob Rehman, Theresa (Hubert) Linhart, Joseph George (Gladys) Rehman, Oswald Rehman; Grandaughter, Megan Poole; brother in law, Adolph Berger.
