Obituary of Jacob Alois Stang
Please share a memory of Jacob to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacob "Jack" Alois Stang was born July 29, 1927 in Macklin, Saskatchewan to John and Mary (nee: Doetzel) Stang. Jacob grew up as the second youngest of a family of ten; he was surrounded by four brothers, five sisters, and one step-sister from his dads first marriage. It was at an early age, along with his brother, Joseph, that Jacob would begin working on the family farm. Jacob and Joseph had a special relationship and worked side by side for the CN and CP Railroads for many years as well. Jacob's career also included working for Buchner Construction and Leonard Stang Construction as well as the Town of Macklin. Jacob took much pride in everything he did.
Jacob had a great love for music and played alongside his brother, Joseph in the Brost/Stang Orchestra. But aside from his work ethic and talents in music, he will be lovingly remembered by his family and many friends as the very kind and gentle person he was. Failing health eventually took Jacob to the Provost Long Term Care facility where he resided until his peaceful passing on June 3, 2015, with family by his side, at the age of 87 years.
Jacob leaves to mourn, his son, Wayne (Ruby); grandchildren, Lee and Heather Stang; sister, Clementine (Alex) Kohlman, Provost, Alberta; as well as many extended relatives and friends.
Jacob was predeceased by his wife, Julia; son, Elmer; infant son, Joseph; and eight siblings.
