Obituary of Andrew Edmund Rehman
Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Andrew was born to Edmund and Barbara Rehman, December 14th, 1928 in Macklin, Saskatchewan. He attended Western Ridge School until grade 9 at which time he was recruited to help with the family farm. In 1951, he met and married the love of his life, Helen Zucker, whom had travelled out west from Windsor, Ontario for a visit. Andrew and Helen would then take over the family farm and have three children; Richard, David and Catherine.
Andrew became a successful grain farmer closely following the markets and commodities, astutely predicting what to plant and most importantly - when to sell! His farm was meticulously maintained and often provided sanctuary for any wayward animals. As well as farming, Andrew was also involved in his community, serving as President of the Knights of Columbus for a term and he also served on the Board of Directors for the Natural Gas Corporation.
In his retirement years, he and Helen enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona where they socialized and golfed with friends.
Andrew will always be remembered as being an intelligent, refined, jovial, good-natured person who was always willing to lend a hand.
Andrew will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Helen; two children, Richard (Shelly), Catherine (Leo); four grandchildren, Warren (Fumi), Jason (Julie), Desmond and Justin, three great-grandchildren, Hayden, Beckitt and Alicia; sister in law, Olga Rehman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Andrew was predeceased by his son, David; parents, Edmund & Barbara; brothers, John (Martha) and Frank.
On this day
We have lost you,
From our arms
To our hearts
Where we will
Cherish our memories forever.
