Please share a memory of Delores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delores Carrie was born to Ole and Tilda Hanson on January 19, 1925 on the farm north of Monitor, she was one of a family of thirteen. Delores passed away peacefully with family by her side on February 11, 2012 at the Provost Health Centre at the age of 87 years.
Delores attended Neutral Hills School, riding to and from on horseback. Riding was one of the great loves of her life. She married Ivar Bogen on April 22, 1941 in Provost, Alberta. They farmed and resided in the Monitor area and were blessed with six children of their own and two children from Ivar's previous marriage.
Delores loved to cook, garden and was an active partner in farming. Her door was always open with more than enough food for unexpected company. She was very active in her church and community. She loved discing, bowling, camping and fishing, but her greatest love was family and friends. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In later years, living in Provost Crestwood apartments, that love was shared with her neighbors and friends. The coffee pot was always on and the door was always open for her many dear, dear friends. Delores was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Delores will be lovingly remembered by her children, David (Valerie), Helen (Dereck) James, Marion (Roy) DeJong, Donnie (Ellen), Karen (Gordon) Olson; step children, Luella (Tony) Peacock, Eileen (tJoe) Quinlan; 16 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 17 step great granchildren; sisters, Edith Kinnee (and friend, Lawrence), Anna Durand, Bernice Barber, and Lillian (Ron) Ference, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and many friends.
Delores was predeceased by her husband, Ivar, in 1985, and young son, Leonard, in 1954.
