Obituary of Daniel George Herle

Daniel George Herle was born on August 26, 1938 in Macklin, Saskatchewan. He was one of three sons and one daughter born to George and Veronica Herle. In 1959, Dan married his first wife, Hertha Rehman and together they had three children, Monica, Tim and Michelle. On February 7, 1981, Dan married Evelyn Ferguson and together they had two children, Tammy and Curtis. Dan's passion in life was farming - he enjoyed all types of farming but most enjoyed time spent with his cows. He had a unique ability to work with and understand his cows like no other. Although he enjoyed time spent in the pens, Dan also really enjoyed checking crops after, and sometimes during, the summer thunder storms. Dan was always up for a new adventure, often the first one to try something new and willing to take chances. He enjoyed the thrill of wheeling and dealing and was a sucker for a good deal. Evelyn could never get attached to her vehicles as it was common for Dan to come home with a new and better model that he was able to make a deal on. In the midst of his many days spent farming or finding a deal, Dan also made sure to find time to enjoy hunting and fishing with many friends. Above farming, crops and dealings, what Dan held closest was family. The love of his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings is what mattered most to Dan and will be what he is most remembered by in their hearts. With his family by his side, Daniel passed away peacefully on September 10, 2016 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta at the age of 78 years. Daniel will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Evelyn; children, Monica (Roy) Taylor and their family, Kimberly (Travis Skarpinsky) and son, Jayden; and Brandon; Tim (Sherri) Herle and their family Jen (Eddy) Bagstead and children, Brooklyn, Ava, Naveah; Kristin (Curtis) McKenelley and daughter, Lexis; Nicholas (Paige) Herle and son, Roman; Michelle (Allen) Stafford and their children, Brody, Emily and Carley; Tammy Soderburg and her family, Raelynn and son, Dawson; Brooke and Colton; and Curtis Herle; brother, Wally (Rena) Herle; sister, Katherine White; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, George & Veronica; brother, Maurice; brother in law, Tom White; and sister in law, Lynn Herle.
