Elsie and Family Elsie I am so saddened to here about Francis' very sudden passing. I cannot imagine what that dreadful news was like for you and your family. I can however imagine how many rich blessings are coming your way from all of us who had the joy of knowing Francis. I remember as I stood for your wedding that I wished that every bride could be looked at with the tender love that Francis looked at you that day. And you beamed. I hope that once the pain of his passing lightens with time that you will again beam as you remember and re-experience the many ways that you both received and expressed love to each other, your family and the many others you encountered on your path. Dear Elsie and all the family. Our hearts are sad, but our spirits are joyful that Francis has gone to be with God. So sorry we are not able to be there in person, but our hearts and prayers are with you all. Growing up a half-mile west of you, I grew to know Francis as a man of deep strength, warmth, humour and courage, someone to model a life after. In recent years, on trips back to St Donatus and even one trip you made to Calgary, Francis taught us one of the most important lessons in life - "of course you have time to come in for coffee"... "of course we have time to stay for supper." None of us should ever forget that. Of course we have time to share love and friendship. All our love and prayers to you.

I will remember Francis' kind words to me many, many years ago. I was in my late teens and did the readings at the funeral service for Uncle Andrew. We were so saddened to hear of the tragedy that occurred in Saskatoon to Francis and to your family. Alvin always spoke so very highly of the Scheck Brothers, their work, community, and spiritual ethics. After we were married, I had the fortune of getting to know Francis, Elsie, and their family. Francis was so welcoming and always had the most genuine and friendly smile and words for us every time we met up with him. Even though we didn't see Francis as often as one would like, we just knew that Francis & Elsie were there in the St.Donatus area and so much a part of the Parish. This is a great tribute to you and Francis, Elsie. May God grant you with so much Strength and Warmth in knowing that we and your many friends and family and church community are praying for Francis and his adoring family.
