Obituary of Irene C. McCormick

Irene Cathleen McCormick was born November 16, 1926 in Castor to Christine and John Spady. She grew up in Alliance and went on to University of Alberta to study education and become a teacher. In the education program at university, Irene met Ross McCormick and on July 4, 1951 they became husband and wife. Irene taught math and typing for 17 years and music for over 50 years. Music was a passion of hers, especially piano. Irene peacefully passed away at the Provost Health Centre on Monday, March 12, 2012, at the age of 85 years. Irene will be forever remembered and dearly missed by her children, Rae Malach of Red Deer and Gary (Andrea) McCormick of Edmonton; grandchildren, Michael (Carolyn), Laura and Clayton; great-grandchildren, Cleopatra, Daxton and Aisley; two brothers, Peter (Doris) Spady of Alliance and Paul (Doreen) Spady of Edmonton; sister, Natalie Snelson of Edmonton; as well as many extended relatives and friends. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Ross; and brother-in-law, Hoyt Snelson.
