GILBERTSON, Kristina Helena (nee Stromquist) September 10, 1916 - April 4, 2009.
Kristina is lovingly remembered by her children Elden, Beatrice, Marlene (Rick), and Clifford (Dolores); grandchildren, Terry (Karen) Todd, Corinne (Darryl) Butt, Kevin Todd, Scott (Tanis) Gilbertson, Janie (Mark) Ritchie, Kevin (Bonnie) Bibault, Drew Gilbertson, Tanis Gilbertson, Nicole Weatherly, Shelley (Joe) Kapraelian, Edward Weatherly and their dad, Ken Weatherly, Gregg (Danielle) Nelson; her great grandchildren Colin and Rachel Todd, Myles and Brandon Butt; Emma, Adele and Sophie Bibault; Max and Ben Gilbertson; Koen Ritchie; Madeleine Kapraelian; Jack and Anna Nelson; her son-in-law Dave (Maxine) Todd and daughter-in-law Wendy Gilbertson (Reg Verley). She is also survived by her brother Ruben, brother-in-law Joe (Jean) Gilbertson, sister-in-law Beatrice (Bill) Lindmark and sister-in-law Mary Gilbertson, plus numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Kristina was predeceased by her husband, Ted, in 1990, son, Ron, in 1991 and daughter, Shari Todd, in 2000. She is also fondly remembered by Bengt, Doris and family and other relatives in Sweden.
Kristina was born and grew up on a homestead south of Amisk, Alberta. She became a teacher and began her career in a one-room schoolhouse in Silver Heights, where she met and later married Ted Gilbertson. Together they raised six children. Her passions were her family first, her baking, gardening, teaching, dancing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, crosswords, and genealogy. She has been an incredible role model.
