I went through public and high schools with Karen and just found out about Karen's passing. I am very saddened to read this! Please accept my deepest condolences on Karens passing! Good memories of Karen are etched in my mind forever! My memories of Karen, while we were growing up, are of a quiet, kind, caring, polite and friendly person that always made me feel comfortable. Rest in peace Karen! You will forever be remembered!

When I was a 10 year old, my Father had just two years earlier opened a quarry just down the road from where Karen and her Mom and Dad sister Brenda lived. I always went "Up North" in the summers to be with my dad, (we also lived in a town about 2 hours away), but I just spent time at the quarry. At some point, Karens Dad, Harold, had worked for my father, and Dad found out Harold had a daughter the same age as me. I remember him coming home at some point, and saying, "I have found you a friend to play with" ! The next time I was up there, Dad took me to Karens house and I met her, and we became fast friends. I was a "City Kid" and Karen took me on many adventures, in the bush, or riding our bikes, or at the Farm down the road. She was full of fun, and I always looked forward to getting up north to see her. We grew together, I moved up, and started highschool in Gr 10, and our friendship was always there. Then she married Bob, had Jason,and had a Family life. I always saw her alot thru those years. I remember the day she came to my work and told me thery were going West. I have not seen her alot over the years, but did have the wonderful opportunity to meet Eldon, and see her children as grown ups, and see her happiness. What sweet memories I have of Karen, we had fun as kids, she always had a great sense of humour, she was a positive person to be around, and I am so honoured to have had the chance to be a tiny part of her life. Thank you Karen for being my Friend. xo
