James was born the eighth child of Ned and Elizabeth McNary on February 16, 1931 in Vulcan, Alberta. At about the age of three he moved with family to the Salmon Arm area in British Columbia. At the age of 19, Jim made a very wise and serious decision to serve God and follow in Jesus' way. Jim was true to those vows till the day he passed away. Jim met Evelyn Patterson at Kamloops and they were married on his twentieth birthday, February 16, 1951. To this marriage six children were added. Jim and Evelyn moved from British Columbia to the area just south-east of Wainwright in 1952. They lived there until Jim passed away. Jim and Evelyn farmed and ranched all their lives. This was an occupation that Jim truly did enjoy. He also really enjoyed his family. It brought him great joy to be able to work with his kids and to have all his kids around the table with him at meal time. Jim and Evelyn instilled love and respect for God in their children through example. Jim passed away with his family by his side on March 4, 2018 at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 87 years. Jim leaves to mourn his loss his five children, Noreen (Nels) Larson, Iris (Ralph) Bennett, Netta† (Paul) Rajotte, Roy (Alice) McNary, Deb (Terrill) Truman and Wanda (Grant) Beckett; grandchildren, Lynell (Michael) Kipp, Trent (Sandy) Larson, Julie (Greg) Durrer, Amanda (Mario) Durocher, Niles Bennett, Dave (Terri) Rajotte, Sheldon (Beki) Rajotte, Arvid (Darienne) Rajotte, Krista (Dave) Miller, Shaun (Carla) McNary, Lee (Emily) McNary, Eric McNary, Heidi McNary, Tyson Truman, Logan (Heidi) Truman, Chelan Truman, Mardell (Chad) Clark, Cody (Laura) Beckett, JoLynn Beckett and Dave Jacques; 4 step grandsons & their families; 33 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lloyd McNary, Bill (Irene) McNary and Reta (Harold) Williston; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Jim was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn in June 2006; daughter, Netta Rajotte; daughter in law, Marilyn McNary; parents, Ned and Elizabeth McNary; infant sister, Sadie; sisters, Florence (Ken) Hewitt, Irene (Bob) Powell, Esther (Johnny) Becker and Elsie (Danny) Dee; brothers, Allan (Brenda) McNary and Ron (Ruth) McNary; and sister in law, Maria McNary.
